This question has been buzzing around in my brain since watching a National Ballet Video "Why I Dance".
For me, it's more than a diversion, although I often use it as such, particularly when a more pressing but much less interesting chore (a.k.a. income tax returns, housecleaning) hovers over my head. Hence, busy times are often more prolific times. That's not to say that I never put paint or pencil to canvas or paper on holidays, but unless you travel alone, that's pretty hard to do.
So, why do YOU paint?
