Finished the 18x24 acrylic of Japanese peonies today. After a week of watching the glorious blooms unfurl, show off, fade and self-destruct, just had to try to catch the moments in acrylic. Used some of the ideas from the watercolour study of last week's regular peonies that I trashed. Working on the J.I.T. principle, or, as some like to say, "working under pressure" (the sun and garden were just an all-too-present distraction and then there was the Todmorden art reception a.k.a. a good excuse to visit part of our wonderful family in the city) I only need to attach the wiring and it's all ready for the deadline tomorrow.
