Well this drought is getting serious. It feels like California. The ferns are crispy, the phlox appreciate the meager amounts of dishwater poured over them, but still the tomatoes keep tomato-ing and the peas keep podding (pea-ing didn't sound right). And this lily, my absolute favourite yellow one, lives on despite a persistent giant anthill, bindweed and no water. You can't help but love daylilies in July. Sort of like peonies in May, they just keep on going despite the gardener.
