Does pickling vinegar dissolve nail polish?

The kitchen smells of cloves and vinegar with an undertone of dill. An hour and a half peeling pearl onions and this is what we got - 3 small cocktail jars of pickles.  It looked easy on Martha's site. Easy is not the same as fast! Is there a machine for this?
